Do you mean septic system? Sewer systems are public facilities, so if there is a problem, your town should deal with it.

You need to figure out the materials required and lengths of pipe required. Once you have that I would use UDFCD’s Bid tabs program to determine the cost.
Go to the downloads tab and click on software and download the excel sheet. Then do a search for your materials and you can see past projects and what they cost.

If you are talking septic system, we recently replaced ours at a cost of right at $10.000. It would have been about $8,000. but the county decided we needed a sand filter which upped the price. Contractors will come out and give you a bid for free. If you are on city sewer, it shouldn’t be near that amount as they are responsible for most of it. Hope that helped.

My friend spent $8k for a main line replacement last August. It was ~ 80 foot run and included excavation, pipe, install, etc. BUT no landscaping. So she will need to spend a few more bucks to deal with the lawn tear-up this year.
Involved Excavator and Plumbers and City inspection – Excavator was the main contractor.
Good Luck.
