I have problem with the smell of raw sewage in my house. Can those fumes harm you?
I rent a house since we have moved in the smell of raw sewage comes into the house. The smell is really bad we have headaches, stomach problems. Can the sewage smell be causing these symtons we are having. We have also contacted our landlord many times and he won’t do anything about it. What should we do?
yes, those can be harmfull gasses! call a plumber and send your landlord the bill! he has to take care of that kind of thing!
Sewer Gas Is HIGHLY POISONOUS and EXPLOSIVE. If you are renting, report the condition to the landlord, the County Health Department, The Housing Commission in your area, open all the windows and MOVE OUT IMMEDIATELY!!! You and your family are risking your lives living there.
yes…if you can smell it and are having symptoms then the bacteria is in the air….take action immediately! Call your local health dept and get some one out there……and don’t sleep there/live there anymore until the situation is corrected…your health is in danger!

You house has its own cistern..under the home..have it emptied and send the bill to mr landlord care of la di la land. AM sure he’ll wake up and come over to smell the coffee when you foot him the bill.
Definitely, they could be gases with certain amounts of toxicity, and exposure to unpleasant aromas (even those without significant toxicity) can be harmful both physically and psychologically. I would consider reporting your landlord to the authorities if he does not do anything about it.
Look at your toilet stacks on your house roof.
The vents need to be above the highest point of the roof or the smell tends to get back in the house. It is a real cheap fix, buy a coupling and then extra pipe and extend the vent above the roof line.
If the landlord wont take care of the problem after asking him nicely. Simply call the housing authority or the persons who check for code violations they will find that problem every other problem as well. Thye landloard will have no choice then.
