I have a sewage smell in my house. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?
My neighbor had a blockage. The city shot water down the line causing the water in my toilets to raise up out of the toilet and spill over. The water was easy to clean up with bleach. What is left is a horrible sewage smell that the bleach is not touching. Any suggestions?

I am thinking they may have suked one of the plumbing traps in ur home dry? run all sinks..tubs and showers for about 15 or 20 minutes…dont have to be at the same time….then pur small amounts of bleach into each drain…..if it back up into the toilet then it also backed up in all drains that are lowere then the rim of the toilet (tubs showers)
I would call the city. It seems to me they would be libel for causing the sewers to back up. This should not happen if the lines are cleared properly.
Take a hose and let it run in all your drains especially floor drains to clean out anything that may have ended up there.
It may be a good idea to have a back flow preventer valve installed if you have this type of problem.
Also check your house insurance most policy’s cover sewer backups.
