Drainage system blueprint comprising self cleaning features

Drain pipes carry waste effluent from your fixtures down to the sewage system. Household sewer systems have pipe lines running from inspection chamber to chamber. There should not be any clogging if the system cleans itself. The use of correct gradients is a must here. UPVC tubing is mainly used in the system. After laying the system, the next important step is to test it before completing work and closing the system. The testing has to be conducted on the drain lines running between the chambers.

It is necessary to install drainage pipes in trenches. They can be three to five hundred millimeters in depth. When the system passes below a parking, walkways or driveways, it is encased in concrete. Excavation of the channel to the desired level must be done at the time of work commencement. Carry out grading towards the tanks or sewers to ensure water flow. A one to four ratio is appropriate for the incline. The bottoms of the trenches are usually highly compressed. Pegs can be used to set accurate levels in the trench bottoms.

Maintaining straight lines is essential while laying down the drainage pipes. This should be joined with sockets leading uphill or towards the building. Flat and well-compacted ground is best to lay the system upon. The female and male sockets should be joined firmly using a strong adhesive. Make sure that you follow all the instructions for the adhesive, as specified by the manufacturer. The pipes must go into the full depth of the wall, while linking to the inspection chambers. Clean any debris from the pipes.

Thorough inspections are carried out on the drainage pipe before it is laid in the channel. Make sure that they are not punctured at any point. The foundation must have socket recesses for it is incomplete without them. However they should not be too long. Good leveling and grading must be provided at the entry and exit points in an inspection chamber. The system is then buried beneath soil when all the joints have been finished and checked. Make the final connections to the sewer or septic tank. And the final step is to link the system to the utilities to finish the drainage system and commence the final test.
