Cost to repair leaking sewer pipe and add drain pipe access?

sewer repair

I recently discovered a leak in my sewer line, which is a galvanized pipe that goes through the foundation of my house. To repair, the plumber quoted 20 feet of replacement plastic piping and adding a drain access for $600 that would take about 3 hours to repair. Is that a reasonable cost or should I get quoted elsewhere?

$600 bucks for 20′ of pipe with a clean out access sounds like a decent price. It doesn’t hurt to get other estimates though.

Yes! That is a very fair price to pay. Go for it!

    $600 sounds almost too good.
If he’s gotta take up or alter the foundation in any way, $600 is way too low.
I would find out exactly what he’s going to do and get a few more quotes.

That is definitely a good price.
